I'm a photography major in school. You can use a usb cable that connects your camera to the mac (it should have came with your camera when you purchased it). You can also use a card reader which you hook up to the mac with a cable and insert your memory card into. Do you have the Nikon USB cable that should have come with the camera? If so, plug that into the camera and USB port on the MBA, the camera should open up and allow you to import the photos to iPhoto if you have that installed on the MBA.
